I am an artist of the NOW generation who accepts the challenge of personal growth and innovation. As a female artist, I am interested in producing work that defies stereotypical representation of Native America. I draw stylistic influence from cubism and modern abstraction. The content of my work is informed by my cultural background, formal education, popular culture, and life experience as a woman.
I don’t see my ethnicity as a limitation for my work; I conceptualize my art in a broader context and see it's relevance in the greater art market. As a young, developing artist I have many personal and professional goals. I am constantly refining my craft and process while actively seeking representation on a local and, eventually, national level. I am exploring my destiny in all ways of education that are out there and in doing this; I am growing to be a stronger artist. As art has had a direct impact on my life, I see creative expression as a device for reaching others. |
