Artist's Statement

"My paintings are bold. I don’t want them to be just another pretty picture."

I want my paintings to capture the focus of the room. I use solid shapes, intense values, and strong composition to grab the viewer’s eye. My paintings are loose and to give the impression that they are alive.

My subject is animals. I love animals and have spent all my life around them. I grew up in the bush of Alaska and saw nature in its raw form. I now live on a 140-acre ranch with my assortment of ranch animals along with whatever wildlife wander onto the ranch. My experiences and subject matter has no end. Each painting captures a moment of every animal’s story. If I can bring these animals to life in my paintings and capture an audience attention, I have done my job.
