Artist's Statement

It is Change and Growth, the effects of these over time, that interests Gail – seed pods on the verge of bursting; tree bark surviving animals and weather; water effects on rocks; and in a broader sense, the breakthrough moments of personal change and growth. From the beaches of Florida in her youth, to the mountains of Colorado she loves, Frasier finds inspiration in Nature.

Gail holds a BA from the University of South Florida; has learned her art from various workshops in clay, drawing, design and composition; continues self-instruction; and gains knowledge of life through family, Peace Corps and Habitat service. Her latest challenge of teaching pottery is most rewarding.

Aspen Glow is part of my aspen series of work. Living in Colorado is a perfect place to study aspen and to use them as inspiration.

"Cascade"

Stoneware clay

Cascade was inspired by the steep, rocky walls of Glenwood Canyon, Colorado. Small, hidden waterfalls can be found cutting their way down to the Colorado River below.
