Artist's Statement

I started drawing at the very early age along side my father. He is an illustrator and a painter. So, art was always  around me. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Art,Advertising & Design from the College of Fine Arts,Bangalore,India. After a brief period of a career in advertising as a visualizer,I decided to take up painting full time. This made me realize what I want to do for the rest of my life. When I initially started painting, my work reflected the beauty of India, where I have spent most of the early part of my life.My marriage brought me here to the US few years ago,and the beautiful landscapes and people here continue to inspire me to paint.

I am currently a member of the ‘Austin Visual Arts Association’, ‘The Oil Painters Of America’, ‘National Oil and Acrylic Painter's Society’ and ‘The American Impressionist Society’. I have participated in several juried national and regional shows and my works are in fine collections in various countries. I believe that I have started my journey; the destination is not marked.

"Everytime I paint, it feels like I am taking a trip to an entirely different world. It is an experience that I wouldn't want to give up for anything."

Paintings depicting the sunset have always been my favorite subjects. All the hustle bustle of life seems to melt away into the horizon effortlessly leaving behind a sense of calmness and peace.

Spring Meadow

"Spring Meadow"

Oil on canvas

Driving through the texas hill country has been one of my favourite things to do. This painting shows the beauty of Texas hill country in spring time. The open sky and the vast land stretching endlessly from horizon to horizon is truly a treat to the senses. The spring time and the grazing animals make it look much more serene and beautiful.

Dimensions: 18" H x 24" W
