Artist's Statement

A “woodsman” from an early age, I credit family walks in the forests for piquing my interest in the great outdoors from childhood on, hiking through woods and fields in search of wildlife, morels and blackberries. I still enjoy looking for the wildlife and blackberries, sometimes in my own backyard. There is always something to paint….

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Athens University. Combining these fields of learning made for an early interest in wildlife art, and I painted my first wildlife piece for a state game warden. Ducks, dogs, birds and bears, I love to paint them all. They are such a gift and a never ending source of beauty.

"Intensity is Key"

Alkyd Oils

They may be small, but the American kestrels are focused hunters. The blue and sienna of the males are a beautiful contrast on colors and they are a joy to paint.

Dimensions: 10"x 8"
$350 framed

"Richard III"

Alkyd Oils

When they unearthed the skeleton of Richard III in England a few years ago, he did indeed have a humped shoulder. This egret reminds of King Richard with his hunched stance.

Dimensions:8"x 10"
$350 framed/unframed
