...I shall paint until I can no longer hold  a brush

Painting is my passion and is like breathing, something I must do. I am constantly amazed at the beauty I see around me.  Not only do I see the beauty of the mountains, trees , the land, but as an artist can see such fantastic beauty in simple ordinary things which many take for granted. I am fortunate to be born an artist.

My life has always been about art in one way or another, while growing up on a farm in northern Missouri; necessity required me to be self-taught, until life placed me in Kansas City. After marriage and raising three children, working full time in industry, I was able to turn back to my love of art.  New opportunities abounded, and I began  studying extensively with several well known artists in the Kansas City area taking numerous classes a week.

Since retirement and leaving the city, I spend most days painting in my studio or in plein air. Over the years I have studied in workshop situations with many nationally known artists and have won many awards.I produce works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, encaustic and pastel. My main focus as of late is the love of plein air landscapes. I travel  Missouri, Kansas and am drawn to the western United States where I paint en plein air, around Taos, New Mexico, Colorado.  I have been fortunate to paint on location in Nova Scotia, Ireland,England, Scotland and France.
